CONFERENCE OVERVIEW 1 in 36 children have autism, with some estimates reporting an even higher prevalence. Over the years, the routine recommendations made by the physician have been Speech Therapy (ST), Occupational Therapy (OT), Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and special education. Unfortunately, not all children respond/improve with these therapies. Previously, we presented a validated method called “Movement Method” which has helped 100s of thousands of autistic children worldwide academically, socially, physically and more. Our conference will demonstrate Movement Method across service lines, across America, showcasing practitioners in various states and service lines throughout the country. Our continued goal is to have “Movement Method” incorporated into daily practice recommendations made by pediatricians, developmentalists, neurologists and the like as an effective treatment modality for Identify ways in which current neuroscience findings can be translated into practical strategies to enhance clinical care and patient outcomes. n Differentiate the Movement Method’s approach from traditional patient education or therapeutic models. n Assess opportunities to integrate Movement Method techniques into multidisciplinary care or community health initiatives. n Relate cognitive and motor symptoms in autism spectrum disorder to basal ganglia functioning. n Recognize that compassionate, movement- and beauty-based interventions are not just more durable, they are more cost effective. n Implement letter board spelling as a tool to help individuals on the spectrum integrate their sensory systems, slow down impulses and express learning, reasoning, understanding and thoughts.
